This amendment was proposed before the draft Charitable Incorporated Organisation Regulations were issued by the Home Office. These draft Regulations make it clear that certain provisions of company law will apply to CIOs. The amendment is intended to make it clear that, despite this, the CIO will not generally be subject to company law.
